Registrations for trademarks are eternally renewable and good for ten years. Beginning six months before the expiration date, it must be renewed. Even if you forgot about it—which even large organizations regularly do—you will get a reminder before the expiration date at your registered address. If you still do not file a renewal application, the registrar may publish a notice in the Trade Marks Journal stating that it intends to withdraw the trademark. The likelihood of this happening is highest one year after the expiration date. Between six and twelve months after they expire, you can renew your trademark online in India by paying a fee through a process called "restoration." The renewal application may be submitted either six months before the trademark expires or six months after it has expired by paying an additional fee. You can register either in person at the Trademark Office or online through the Indian Trademark Office website. After it has been submitted, the Trademark Office will check the renewal application to make sure that all necessary information has been provided.
